Atlantic Rim Day 5 Session 2 Update

A win to finish off, but miss out on shot difference

Our ladies Fours finished with a comfortable 17-10 win against Switzerland but miss out on a playoff spot by 6 shots!!! Great effort from the ladies a very credible 4th place finish and a place at world bowls next year in the Ladies Fours

On now

Ladies Singles v Brazil

Men’s Pairs v France

Men’s Triples v Switzerland

Atlantic Championships Day 5 Session 1 Update

2 defeats and a big scalp to start the final day of the first disciplines at Atlantic Rim

Ladies Singles:

Jersey 13-21 Guernsey

World Championship qualification is all but ended for a Chloe who went down against our near neighbour.

Men’s Pairs:

Jersey 16-15 Scotland

Ross and Buzz take a 3 last end to beat the legends of Alex Marshall and Paul Foster to effectively secure their world bowls place and keep their small chances of top 3 alive.  A win last game coupled with an IOM and Wales losses will give them a chance.

Men’s Triples:

Jersey 14-23 England

A tough loss but still in a great position to qualify. A win against Switzerland will confirm it, even a loss will be enough as long as Wales v England does not finish in a draw. They can still win the group with a win and Botswana beating South Africa.

On now,

Ladies Fours against Switzerland

Day 5 games and permutations

Ladies Singles at Penarth

Chloe needs to win both her games against Guernsey and Brazil and results go her way to qualify for Ladies Singles at World Bowls next year

Jersey v Guernsey at 8:30am

Jersey v Brazil at 1:30pm

Men’s Pairs at Dinas Powys

The guys need to beat Scotland and France to have any chance of getting top 3 and results go in their favour.  A win against both will secure top 6 and a place at world bowls.  A loss against Scotland and win against France should be enough depending if results go their way with Israel playing Wales and Scotland respectively

Jersey v Scotland at 8:30am

Jersey v France at 1:30pm

Men’s Triples at Penylan

The guys have secured their place at world bowls. They are in a great position to finish top 3 and only a bizzare set of results will see them miss out. A win against England this morning and top of the group will be more or less secured

Jersey v England at 8:30am

Jersey v Switzerland at 1:30pm

Ladies Fours and Dinas Powys

The ladies have secured their place at world bowls and still have a chance to qualify in top 3.  They need to beat Switzerland last game and hope Ireland beat Zimbabwe with a 15 shot swing between each game

Jersey v Switzerland at 11am

Good luck team Jersey #onelastpush
