Roy Dupre & Florence Le Claire Triples 2026

A weekend of competitive bowls across two greens

The 2026 Roy Dupre and Florence Le Claire Triples played out across a full weekend of bowls, with Saturday’s sessions hosted at Sun Bowls Club and Sunday’s concluding rounds at St Saviours Bowls Club. Four clubs competed across both competitions, and when the final ends were played, both defending champions had held their ground.

Roy Dupre Triples – Men

Sun BC claimed the Roy Dupre title in convincing fashion, finishing top of the standings with 6 points and an impressive shot difference of +37 – a margin that reflected their dominance across the weekend. JBC pushed them closest, finishing second on 5 points with an exactly level shot difference of 0, making for a tight race behind the leaders. BJ Mens secured third on 4 points, edging out St Saviours and St Brelade who finished fourth and fifth respectively.

The ladies’ competition produced an equally compelling weekend, with JBC taking the Florence Le Claire title on 6 points and a remarkable shot difference of +52 – the standout individual performance across both competitions. St Saviours matched JBC on points but were separated on shot difference, finishing a creditable second on +20. BJ Ladies took third, ahead of Sun BC and St Brelade.

Congratulations to Sun BC and JBC on retaining their respective titles, and to all clubs who took part across what was a fine weekend of Jersey bowls.

Behind every result on the board is a community worth being part of. Bowls in Jersey offers something genuinely rare – a sport where beginners and seasoned competitors share the same green, the same camaraderie, and the same love of the game. Clubs across the island are always welcoming new faces, and the learning curve is gentler than most. If this weekend has sparked any curiosity, the door is open – come and see what it’s all about.

Sad News

I am saddened to learn of the passing of former President & Treasurer Lawrence De Gruchy.

There is no social media post that can sum up or do justice to the contribution, dedication and passion that Lawrence committed to our Sport through the JBA, Bowls Jersey and the Sun Bowls Club. Without his efforts, in numerous capacities over many many years, our sport would be in a far poorer state.

On behalf of a grateful membership I extend the deepest of condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Maureen and family. Please know that our Bowls Community are keeping you all in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Rest In Peace Lawrence my friend, you truly were one of a kind and your generosity knew no limits. Your support and belief in me, and indeed all the โ€œyoungstersโ€, will never be forgotten and your legacy which started bearing fruit a long time ago, shall continue to be fought for and protected by all of us you held so dear.
