A mixed back for team Jersey on day 5 of the commonwealth games. The ladies starring in the pairs and Triples and Malcolm in the men’s singles.
The day started with ladies Pairs up against South Africa. Despite their best efforts against a strong tough South African united, they lost 23-6.
Next session was Malcolm starting his campaign in the Men’s singles. First up was Botswana and Malcolm ran out a 21-6 winner.
The ladies Triples started their campaign soon after up against Wales. It wasn’t meant to be and the ladies lost 18-7.
Both Malcolm and the ladies Triples were up on the last session of the day.
The ladies got their first points on the board against Zambia winning 26-12. Well done ladies!!!
Malcolm faced a tough match agains Northern Ireland’s Gary Kelly. Malcolm found himself 20-14 down but bravely fought back to 20-20. Unfortunately Malcolm was denied the comeback with Gary defeating Malcolm 21-20.
All will be back in action later on.
